Suspected Meth Pipe Found After Car Crash In Westlake

A woman drove her car into a pole on Detroit Road, near Clague. Police believe the woman was impaired.

WESTLAKE, OH — Suspected methamphetamine pipes were found in a car that had crashed into a pole on Detroit, just west of Clague Road, police said. The driver allegedly showed signs of impairment when officers spoke to her.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5. Police got word of a one car accident and went to the scene.

The driver, a 35-year-old Cleveland woman, had suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision. She also showed signs of impairment, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and failure to control.

During the investigation, police found drug paraphernalia in the woman's car, including suspected methamphetamine pipes. The woman is also being charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
