Suspected Sunglasses Thieves Arrested In Beachwood

A Westlake Police spokesperson said the pair of suspected thieves were identified after their images were released to the public.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A pair of suspected sunglasses thieves were caught after allegedly stealing $500 of merchandise the Sunglasses Hut at Crocker Park in Westlake. A Westlake Police spokesperson said the suspects were recognized after their images were released to the public. Beachwood Police caught the pair last week.

The suspects were able to snag a pair of $510 Gucci glasses from the Westlake business last week. The theft happened May 17 at about 7:15 p.m.

Two people, one man and one woman, walked into the store and pretended to shop while they watched for the opportune moment to snag what they wanted, police said. When the right moment hit, they allegedly grabbed the pair of Gucci glasses and walked out of the store.

A Westlake Police spokesperson said the pair were identified from their photographs. They allegedly have a history of stealing expensive sunglasses. Beachwood Police snagged the suspects after they allegedly stole glasses in that city.
