Suspected Weed, Loaded Gun Found During Westlake Traffic Stop
Police said they found suspected marijuana, a loaded gun, measuring scales and several large knives in a stopped car.
WESTLAKE, OH — Suspected marijuana and measuring scales were found during a traffic stop in Westlake last week, according to a Westlake police spokesperson. Police said they also found a loaded handgun and several large knives in the stopped car.
At 11:30 p.m., on Feb. 27, police stopped a car on Center Ridge Road, near Hawkins Road, for an equipment violation. The driver, a 26-year-old man from North Ridgeville, was barred from driving at night, so police took him into custody, according to police records.
Officers then searched the man's car and found suspected marijuana and measuring scales. Officers then uncovered a loaded handgun and several large knives inside the car, according to police.

The 26-year-old has been accused of felony carrying a concealed weapon, along with misdemeanor drug and traffic charges, police said.
