SUV Hits Utility Pole, Rolls Onto Side In Westlake
Police said the driver was taken to St. John Medical Center after the accident.

WESTLAKE, OH — A car rolled over near the Detroit and Cobblestone intersection in Westlake last week. The driver, a 26-year-old, was taken to University Hospitals St. John Medical Center for treatment after the accident.
At 10:10 p.m. on March 27, Westlake police were called to Detroit Road for reports of a car accident. When officers arrived, they found a Kia Sportage on its side in the roadway. The driver was standing next to the wrecked vehicle.
EMS took the driver to St. John's for treatment.

Investigators learned the driver drifted off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. The collision sent the Kia into a roll, which ended with the SUV on its side. A Westlake police spokesperson said they do not believe alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash.
The driver was cited for failure to control her car.

Parts of Detroit Road were closed for about 45 minutes while police cleared the scene and utility workers stabilized the pole.
