Teen Jumps Counter, Steals Merchandise At Westlake Gas Station
Police said the girl also struggled against officers when they tried to handcuff her.
WESTLAKE, OH — A teenager was arrested after she jumped the counter at GetGo Gas , grabbed a Juul nicotine package, and tried to leave the store, police said. The 17-year-old didn't realize she had been seen by an officer.
The incident happened at about 1 a.m., according to police. An officer was patrolling on Center Ridge Road when he saw the 17-year-old girl hop the counter and grab the Juul package. No one at the store saw the girl, according to police.
After grabbing the Juul package, the girl tried to leave the store. The officer confronted her and asked her repeatedly if she worked at the GetGo. The girl refused to answer, so she was placed into custody.

The girl resisted being placed into handcuffs and appeared to be intoxicated, police said. The girl was taken to Westlake Police Department, where she would be picked up by a parent.

The teenager is being charged with theft, resisting arrest, and underage consumption. She will be charged through the juvenile courts, police said.
The Juul package was returned to the store.
