The Best Picnic Spots in (and Around) Westlake

Celebrate spring by getting out into nature for a meal in the park.

Now that the weather is getting warmer and the sun is shining, take your meals to go! Enjoy a relaxing picnic at one of the area's five best picnic spots.

Take a break from the daily grind to relax under one of the massive shade trees at Bradley Nature Park on Bradley Road in Westlake. Bordered by the Cleveland Metroparks’ Bradley Woods Reservation, Bradley Nature Park offers a relaxing oasis inside of the busy city of Westlake. The park offers grills, pavilions and picnic tables for your picnic needs and a large playground to keep the kids busy as you prepare the meal. So pack up the picnic basket, minus the wine (no alcohol inside the park), and bring the family to enjoy the warm weather.

Pack up your picnic gear and head over to Clague Park, located on Clague Road and Hilliard Blvd. in Westlake. Enjoy watching the ducks as you eat your picnic meal and watch the kids play on the playground, take a dip in Peterson Pool, catch a baseball game or watch a tennis match. Clague Park offers a lot of fun and relaxation for entire families each day from dawn until dark. Make reservations if you are expecting a large picnic, so that you can be sure to have a pavilion to use. Alcohol is prohibited inside the park.

Westlake Recreation Center Park
Pack a picnic basket, your family and your fishing gear! Enjoy a quiet picnic and then relax by a fully stocked pond at the Westlake Recreation Center on Hilliard Blvd. Catch a few fish as you soak in the sun. Enjoy your meal in one of the center’s spacious gazebos and then head over to the floating fish pier with your fishing gear, take the kids to the playground area, or walk the 1.2-mile walking track for a bit of exercise. As with other Westlake parks, no alcohol is allowed in the park.
