Thieves Smash Glass Door At Westlake Business, Steal Cash
Investigators believe the break-in may be linked to a similar smash-and-grab that happened in Bay Village.

WESTLAKE, OH — Thieves smashed the glass door at a Westlake business and stole cash from inside, police said. Investigators believe the break-in may be connected to a similar smash-and-grab that happened in Bay Village the same night.
On Thursday morning, at 2 a.m., Westlake police receive an alarm call from Fine Wine and Tobacco on Detroit Road. When officers arrived, they found the front glass door had been shattered, but the suspects were gone.
Police believe two people broke into the business. It's not clear what they used to shatter the glass door.

The duo were only in the store for minutes, police said, and made off with a small amount of cash.
Bay Village had a similar breaking-and-entering incident at a liquor store, Westlake police said. Both incidents happened overnight, from Wednesday into Thursday.
