Truck Hit Utility Pole In Westlake, Downed Power Lines

Police said part of Center Ridge Road was closed for hours while crews worked on cleaning up the mess.

WESTLAKE, OH — On September 21, several homes were without power. Part of Center Ridge Road was also closed during the day. The mayhem was caused when a truck went off the road and hit a utility pole, knocking the lights out for some areas.

Police said they got multiple reports of a truck hitting a utility pole at about 3:30 p.m. last Friday. Officers rushed to the scene, which was at Center Ridge, near Bradley Road.

The utility/telephone pole was down, police said. Flames had been seen coming from the downed lines and affected transformer.

Police said no one was hurt in the incident, but the roadway was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess and restored power to residents.

The driver of the truck was cited for the incident, police added.
