Unconscious Man Had Methamphetamine: Westlake Police

The man was spotted underneath an SUV by a patrolling officer.

WESTLAKE, OH — An unconscious man was found laying underneath an SUV in the parking lot of a hotel on Clemens Road. Police found Xanax and methamphetamine in the man's possession, according to records.

The man was spotted at about 9 p.m. on April 9. An officer saw the man underneath the vehicle and went to wake him up. The man appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to police.

The man told officers that he had been cleaning his SUV when he fell asleep. Police arrested the 48-year-old Wellington man on suspicion of felony possession of drugs.

Four days earlier, on April 5, police found amphetamine pills during a traffic stop.

At 11:30 p.m., police stopped a car for driving without headlights. The driver was field tested for impairment and was then arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle impaired and having an open container of alcohol in his car. Police said they found an open Great Lakes beer in the vehicle.

When police searched the man's car, they found amphetamine pills. The driver could not explain why those were in his vehicle. The driver was a 26-year-old Newburgh Heights man. He was arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession, operating a vehicle impaired, open container and various traffic charges.
