Westlake City Schools Qualify for Audit Award
The district received the distinction of a "clean" audit report from State Auditor Dave Yost's office.

WESTLAKE, OH - The Westlake City School District just received a clean audit report, courtesy of State Auditor Dave Yost's office. The clean report qualifies the district for the Auditor of State Award with Distinction.
end up earning the award. To qualify for the award, the entity must have a "clean" audit report. That means:
- They file timely financial reports with Yost's office in the form of a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
- The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs.
The management letter cannot have comments related to:

- Ethics referrals
- Questioned costs less than $10,000o
- Lack of timely report submission
- Reconciliation
- Failure to obtain a timely single audit
- Findings for recovery less than $100
- Public meetings or public records
The district must also have no other financial concerns.
“Taxpayers expect accurate financial records from their local governments,” Yost said in a statement. “The Westlake City School District’s dedication to accountability is evident.”

“We are pleased to receive this award, which provides external validation to our community stakeholders,” said CFO/Treasurer Todd Hopkins in a statement. “This is a significant achievement for our administration and staff, and represents the commitment to our mission of excellence.”
