Westlake City Schools To Host Neighborhood Meetings

Residents around the area of Westlake High School or and will have the chance to learn more about upcoming construction at neighborhood meetings on Tuesday.

Westlake schools will undergo extensive construction over the next few years. During the first phase through 2014, workers will renovate much of Westlake High School, transform Lee Burneson Middle School into an intermediate school and build a new middle school.

The meeting for neighbors of the middle school and Dover Elementary site will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 8 in the Lee Burneson Middle School cafeteria. Neighbors of the Westlake High School site will meet at 7:30p .m. March 8, in the Lee Burneson Middle School cafeteria.

Schools officials will give more detail about the construction period and the final results.

The district will then ask the city for approval for the plans.
