Westlake Educator to Share Ideas in Toronto

Pam Griebel is traveling to Canada to learn more about the school system and find ways to collaborate.

Westlake's Pam Griebel is headed to Toronto to get a Canadian view of education next month.

The Schools Director of Cirriculum is hoping to focus on two issues on her visit: making partnerships for and looking at ways to collaborate, and learning how the Ontario school system works.

She is headed to Kent State University’s College of Education, Health and Human Services’ Canadian-American Symposium, along with state-level policy-makers, leading Northeast Ohio educators and education association representatives.

They will visit school sites and learn from the Ontario Institution of Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.

“I look forward to expanding my knowledge of educational processes and practices on a more global level,” Griebel said. “The potential for district and building partnerships is exciting and can benefit our Westlake students, staff, parents and community at large.”
