Westlake High Senior Named SADD Student Of The Year

Students Against Destructive Decisions recognized a Westlake High student for his extraordinary efforts in the community.

WESTLAKE, OH — Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) named Westlake High senior Vince Sovacool its Student of the Year. The organization cited Sovacool's "passion, activities and creativity" in his community.

The Westlake High SADD chapter nominated Sovacool for the award. Adviser Kathy McGinty and the SADD members at Westlake called Sovacool an excellent friend and role model. They wrote that he "embodies the SADD mission in his daily life and has never been shy about incorporating the SADD principles in the activities that are important to him."

Being part of the Westlake High SADD is a family tradition for the Sovacools. Vince's sister, Nora, was an officer during the 2016-2017 school year. Vince has been in the club all four years of high school.
