Westlake High Students Know Their Spanish

Scores from fifty two students in Cheryl Bendik's Spanish 3 Honors classes at are rivaling those of college students.

The group participated in the spring 2011 The Ohio State University Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency and were scored on writing, reading, listening and speaking. Westlake students came within a point, on average, of OSU students in all categories, and actually the average OSU score in listening.

The tests show a student’s projected placement into language courses at The Ohio State University. It compares level 3 students from 70 high schools throughout the state, along with OSU students in third quarter language classes.

Westlake High students also beat out the average score of all high schools in every category.
