Westlake July 4th Incident: Woman Taken Into Custody
Police said they took a woman into custody at Clague Park on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
WESTLAKE, OH — Police took a woman into custody during Independence Day festivities at Clague Park.
According to police, at about 9 p.m. on Thursday, officers working at Clague Park were told there was a woman creating a scene nearby. The woman was found and appeared to be intoxicated, police said.
The woman was yelling at a crowd of people around her and was later accusing of pushing another person during the July 4th events.

Even after officers arrived on the scene and spoke to the woman, she continued to yell and swear at the crowd around her, police said. Officers took the woman into custody on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
The woman refused to identify herself and has also been charged with failure to identify. Prosecutors will review the report and determine if additional charges will be leveled against the woman.

On the way to Westlake City Jail, the woman asked police if they were proud of arresting "a mother" and threatened to make the arrest into a "national incident," police said.
Police said the woman, who was eventually identified by officers, was eventually released to a sober person.
