Westlake SWAT Situation Ends Peacefully
Police were able to convince a man to leave his barricaded home peacefully.

WESTLAKE, OH — The SWAT stand-off outside a Westlake home has ended peacefully, the police department announced.
At 7:55 a.m., a woman on Westwood called and said her husband was inside the garage, with a gun, and was threatening to hurt himself. Police rushed to the scene and had the woman exit the home.
Officers also evacuated neighbors to the house. The man was then isolated in the home, a Westlake police representative said.

Westlake police and the Westshore Enforcement Bureau SWAT team and negotiators opened talks with the man. By 11:30 a.m., police had convinced the man to peacefully surrender. He came out of the house and no one was hurt during the incident.
The man has been taken to Fairview Hospital for an evaluation. The road near the man's home has been reopened.
