Westlake Police Need Volunteers for Auxiliary Unit
Want to get more involved in community policing? This is your chance.
WESTLAKE, OH - Westlake Police have put out a call for volunteers for the Auxiliary Unit. The unit assists police officers by attending to less-urgent issues that would otherwise keep officers from the important job of law enforcement. It is looking for additional members, especially those who are available during the evening. Training and equipment is provided.
Some of the unit's duties include:
- Assisting in weather-related emergencies
- Directing traffic at automobile accidents and community events
- Patrolling City facilities
- Performing other duties
- Providing supplemental patrols on weekends
