Westlake Schools Awarded $17,000 STEMM Grant

The district will use the funding to support teachers at Lee Burneson and Westlake High schools.

WESTLAKE, OH — A $17,575 grant has been awarded to the Westlake Schools to help staff give students skill and experience in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM).

“This is a significant investment in teaching and learning that will result in profitable returns for both students and staff,” said Westlake Superintendent Scott Goggin. “This plan of instruction will significantly shift the way our students learn and empower our staff to lead that change.”

The one-year grant was awarded by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. The funding will be used to support STEMM development for 16 math, science and pre-engineering teachers at Lee Burneson Middle School and Westlake High.
