Westlake Store Briefly Shut Down For Selling Alcohol To Teens

Police charged two store employees and the manager/owner for selling alcohol to a group of 16 and 17 year olds.

WESTLAKE, OH — Police briefly shut down a local convenience store after four teenagers were able to buy alcohol from the business over the course of one hour. Two store employees and one manager were charged with selling alcohol to minors.

Several complaints had come into police about a convenience store on Center Ridge road selling alcohol to underage people. Officers monitored the store and watched as several young-looking people went in and bought alcohol.

Over the span of an hour, police stopped four 16 and 17 year olds for underage possession of alcohol. The alcohol had been bought at the targeted store.

Officers went into the store and spoke with staff, including the manager and owner. Two employees and the manager were charged with selling alcohol to minors.

The store was shut down for the rest of the night, police said.
