Westlake Student Earns Rare Perfect Score On National Test
Dover Intermediate School's Lillie Forbes got a 20 on the WordMasters Challenge, one of only 15 sixth graders nationwide to do so.

WESTLAKE, OH — A student at Westlake's Dover Intermediate School earned a perfect score on the WordMasters Challenge, a national vocabulary competition that sees 150,000 students competing annually. Sixth grader Lillie Forbes was one of only 15 sixth graders nationally to achieve the perfect score.
Forbes was part of the challenging Blue Division test. She was coached by Language Arts teacher Jessica Ranallo.
As rare a feat as Forbes' perfect score is, she is actually the second Dover Intermediate School student to earn the coveted 20 point notch. Roman Lucarelli also earned a perfect score, in the same division, earlier this year.

WordMasters is an exercise in critical thinking. It encourages a student to become familiar with a set of new words and then challenges the student to use those words to complete analogies expressing various kinds of logical relationships. The WordMasters Challenge materials were specifically crafted for younger students, in grades three through eight.
