Westlake senior Jamie Novak was recognized for her contribution to the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Art Program.

WESTLAKE, OH — A Westlake High School senior took home an honorable mention award from the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Art Program this year. Jamie Novak earned the designation for her artwork.

The eXpressions Art program is an interdisciplinary program that engages high schools students with scientific research, using art. Students are charged with creating creative interpretations of research conducted by Cleveland Clinic science interns.

Westlake students competed against 1,700 art, language and math projects by students from 61 schools. Honorable mention winners, like Novak, get $25. Each teacher of an award-winning student also receives a $100 educational grant. Westlake art teacher Kelly Atkinson supported Novak in her project.
