Westlake Student Going To State Chemist Challenge
Mantas Viazmitinas, a 7th grader at Lee Burneson, will be going to Toledo on April 29 for the You Be the Chemist Challenge.

WESTLAKE, OH - It may sound like a game show on ABC but the state's "You Be the Chemist Challenge" contest is very real and very intense. And Lee Burneson Middle School student, Mantas Viazmitinas will be taking on other middle school students from around Ohio on April 29.
The You Be the Chemist Challenge is an interactive academic contest that encourage 5-8 students to explore chemistry concepts and their real-world applications.
Seventh- and eighth-grade science students participated in a timed, interactive question and answer contest in January. The top nine students from LBMS went on to the regional contest at the Great Lakes Science Center in March. Mantas placed fourth at the regional, which qualified him for the state contest in Toledo on April 29. The top qualifiers at the regional will move on to the national challenge.
