Westlake Students Take Part In Elite, Prestigious Art Program
The Cleveland Museum of Art's Ambassadors program is only open to six schools. Westlake High is one of those schools.

WESTLAKE, OH — For the sixth straight year, Westlake High School students were invited to take part in a select and prestigious program offered by the Cleveland Museum of Art. The program, the Museum Ambassadors, is open to only six schools in Northeast Ohio.
As part of the museum's program, students get to peek behind the curtain and see how a world-class art institution operates. Participants also get to check out the operations of the nearby Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Children's Museum.
According to a Westlake Schools spokesperson, the goal of the program is to drum up interest and understanding of careers at museums. Students can get their first taste of life inside the Cleveland Museum of Art through the Ambassadors. Participants will also get to experience different parts of museum life, like curation and marketing, among many others.

This year, the program is geared to bringing more teenagers into the museums. To do that, the Cleveland Museum of Arts wants to develop a Teen Guide system. Plus, the museum wants to institute a new mobile application to utilize more "Teen Tours."
This year, 10 Westlake High students were selected to take part in the program. The students are part of the AP Art History and International Baccalaureate Theory of Knowledge classes and programs at the school. Students are selected via an application process. Applicants are picked by Social Studies teacher Beth Noren.
