• Downtown Wooster merchants build Friday event series (yourohionews.com) — Downtown Wooster merchants joined forces this summer to launch First Fridays and Final Fridays, drawing shoppers with art, music, food, and late-night shopping. Main Street Wooster says the grassroots series boosted sales, foot traffic, and downtown energy, and organizers plan to bring both events back next year. • Ellen J. Waggy (medina-gazette.com) — Seville resident Ellen J. Waggy, a longtime educator and church member with close family connections in Wooster and Rittman, has died at age 91. Her family has chosen not to hold services, and memorial contributions are suggested to her Seville church, Lifecare Hospice on Akron Road in Wooster, or the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman.
