• High School Students Participate in YSU Honors Program (businessjournaldaily.com) — High schoolers from across the Mahoning Valley just wrapped up an intensive week at Youngstown State University's Sokolov Honors College Summer Honors Institute, getting a real taste of campus life in Youngstown. Students dove into seminars, creative projects, and performances while building confidence, leadership skills, and friendships that could shape their future college plans here.
• Pasha Retires After More Than 40 Years in Nonprofit Leadership (businessjournaldaily.com) — A longtime nonprofit leader who has recently been serving as a program ambassador at the Youngstown Business Incubator is retiring after more than four decades of service. Ginny Pasha's career has included work with Youngstown City Schools, United Way of Trumbull County, and major early literacy initiatives, plus recent efforts to connect local entrepreneurs with funding, training, and support.
• Judge dismisses case against EMT in naloxone lawsuit (wkbn.com) — A federal judge in Youngstown has dismissed a civil rights lawsuit against a Trumbull County EMT who administered naloxone to a man during a 2023 incident in Kinsman. The court ruled the EMT acted within a duty to preserve life when giving Narcan, noting the medication was minimally invasive and caused no harmful side effects, and a related case against a former police chief was previously dismissed.
