Central Y downtown begins project to add living space to its upper floors (vindy.com) — Downtown Youngstown's Central YMCA is beginning asbestos remediation to convert more than 100 long-unused upper-floor units into housing and support space for young adults aging out of foster care. Backed by a $1 million state brownfield grant and county support, the project will expand youth programs, workforce development, and summer camps, while reviving a historic community hub for vulnerable Mahoning County residents.
2. WRPA, Officials Celebrate Investments at Airport (businessjournaldaily.com) — More than $42 million in new and recent investments are reshaping Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, including a YNG Aviation Education Center, Air Heritage Trail, and major runway work that support jobs and training for the Lake to River region. The Western Reserve Port Authority is also moving toward an industrial park in Youngstown and potential purchases of downtown and school district properties, signaling significant development and economic changes ahead for local residents.
3.
