You can also attend the Rogers County commissioners meeting and the Claremore City Council meeting, giving you a chance to plug into local decisions and community fun all in one week.

Claremore data center project to pay millions to schools and communities (okenergytoday.com) β Claremore's planned data center is set to deliver $172 million in PILOT payments over 25 years, including $100 million for Sequoyah Public Schools and $5 million for a city Community Betterment Fund. Construction could start this fall, with city leaders expecting hundreds of millions more in electric and sales tax revenue to support facilities, parks, and community programs.

Oklahoma Historical Society hosting free screenings of Route 66 film (fox23.com) β Claremore residents can catch a free screening of the Oklahoma-focused Route 66 documentary "Crossroads of America" at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum on September 24 at 7 p.m. Produced by the Oklahoma Historical Society, the film highlights the state's outsized role in Mother Road history and profiles the people and places that helped shape this iconic highway.

New York man runs through Rogers County during Route 66 run (claremoreprogress.com) β A cross-country runner celebrating the Route 66 centennial recently stopped at the Claremore Museum of History to learn more about local hero Andy Payne and the famed Bunion Derby. His marathon-a-day journey from Chicago to Santa Monica is being filmed for a documentary comparing today's Route 66 experience with the grueling 1928 race that helped make this stretch of road legendary.
