• Burn Ban Not Renewed in Texas County (kscbnews.net) — Texas County's burn ban has expired, but if you live in Guymon, city ordinances still prohibit controlled or pit burns inside city limits, so don't light up yet. Residents planning prescribed burns in the county must call the Texas County 911 Center beforehand, and anyone with questions is urged to contact the Guymon Fire Department.
   

• Oklahoma energy grid to expand following major investments (news9.com) — A major new high-voltage transmission line is planned to start near Guymon, linking the Oklahoma Panhandle to Pueblo, Colorado and helping connect eastern and western U.S. power grids. Backed by $250 million in federal funding, the project is expected to create jobs and improve reliability for Oklahoma electricity customers during periods of high demand.
