• Oklahoma prison escapee caught in Rhode Island (wpri.com) — A man who escaped in July from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Facility in McAlester has been arrested in Providence, Rhode Island, after a multi-agency search. Classified as a sexually violent predator, he was taken into custody on an escape warrant and arraigned as a fugitive from Oklahoma in Rhode Island court.
• Oklahoma County killer to seek clemency ahead of November execution • Oklahoma Voice (oklahomavoice.com) — An Oklahoma death row inmate is seeking clemency before his scheduled Nov. 12 execution at Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, arguing he was wrongfully convicted in a 2001 killing. The Pardon and Parole Board will weigh his claims of prosecutorial misconduct and flawed evidence before making a recommendation to the governor.
