1. What cities can you fly to nonstop from OKC's Will Rogers Airport? (news9.com) — If you're flying out of Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, you now have 27 nonstop destinations to choose from, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, and Seattle. The airport also offers seasonal routes like Cancun and a Tampa flight starting March 2027, but schedules can change, so checking airline and airport websites before booking is essential.
2. Federal grant to help revitalize Westwood Exchange neighborhood, Will Rogers Courts (okcfox.com) — A $25.1 million federal Choice Neighborhoods grant will help transform Oklahoma City's Westwood Exchange neighborhood and the aging Will Rogers Courts housing over the next eight years. Residents can expect new housing, an urban farm, a Head Start facility, and expanded services and education opportunities, with construction starting late next year and first move-ins targeted for mid-2029.
3. Long vacant Oklahoma City hotel set for new life (oklahoman.com) — A long-vacant 10‑story hotel on Northwest Expressway in northwest Oklahoma City is being redeveloped into a roughly 200‑room dual‑brand Hilton, anchoring a new mixed‑use project on the 4.5‑acre site. The former Hilton Inn Northwest, most recently a Wyndham, has been a problem spot and homeless encampment, but its sale to Champion Hotels coincides with nearby bridge and corridor improvements.
4. Oklahoma City police searching for woman missing since Wednesday (koco.com) — Oklahoma City police are asking for your help finding 35-year-old Modesta Pardon, last seen around midnight Wednesday at a laundromat on Northwest 23rd Street and possibly taken against her will. She's described as 5-foot-2, about 130 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, last wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts; anyone with information should call 911 immediately.
5. Oklahoma City to release water from Canton Lake to raise Lake Hefner levels (koco.com) — Oklahoma City officials will begin releasing water from Canton Lake on Sept. 17 to raise Lake Hefner by just over four feet, helping stabilize a key local water source after hot, dry weather. The 16,000-acre-foot transfer, the first since 2024, will travel down the North Canadian River and should start reaching Lake Hefner within three to five days.
