About Us
In 1911, Oklahoma City was experiencing significant growth. The Chamber of Commerce and city government joined forces to purchase the land that would eventually become the site of the "Civic Center Project." In 1927, voters approved a $4 million bond for the project. Construction of the Muncipal Auditorium, later renamed the Civic Center Music Hall, was completed in 1937. In 1966, the venue was renovated to cater specifically to the performing arts, and it began hosting concerts and performances, including a notable appearance by KISS in 1976.
