Oklahoma City Council To Hold April 28 Meeting By Videoconference

The Oklahoma City Council will hold its April 28 meeting by videoconference.

The videoconference meeting helps protect public health while maintaining critical operations, and is in accordance with the changes to the state Open Meetings Act included in the Oklahoma Legislature’s SB 661. The changes define how to legally hold open meetings remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

It’s the third straight City Council meeting to be held remotely. Other City boards, trusts, commissions and committees are also using videoconference or teleconference formats to conduct business.

The agendas and supporting documents for every City of Oklahoma City public meeting will be posted as normal to okc.gov/agenda. Agendas will include instructions to participate for all meetings conducted remotely. Canceled meetings will be posted to okc.gov/clerk.

How it works

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. and has no physical location. Council members, staff and others may participate only by videoconference or phone.

Before the meeting, visit okc.gov/agenda to get the agenda and see the items to be considered.

There are three ways to listen (if prompted, enter Meeting ID 969 6249 0885):

It’s best to sign up to speak at the meeting before it begins. City staff will attempt to process requests made during the meeting. Include your name, address, agenda item number and the reason you would like to speak (protest, representing applicant, request continuance, etc.), including the subject on which you’d like to speak if it’s for “Citizens to Be Heard.” There are three ways to sign up to speak:

A recording of the meeting will be posted as normal later in the day to the City’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/cityofokc.

The Mayor will announce at the beginning of the meeting that if connections are lost, the City will attempt to restore them for up to 30 minutes. The meeting will be rescheduled they aren’t restored in time.
