The teleconference meeting helps protect public health while maintaining critical operations, and is in accordance with the changes to the state Open Meetings Act included in the Oklahoma Legislature’s SB 661. The changes define how to legally hold open meetings remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Other City boards, trusts, commissions and committees are also using the teleconference format to conduct business.

The agendas and supporting documents for every City of Oklahoma City public meeting will be posted as normal to okc.gov/agenda. Agendas will include instructions to participate for all meetings conducted by teleconference. Canceled meetings will be posted to okc.gov/clerk.

How it works

The City Council Chamber will be closed for Tuesday’s meeting, which begins at 8:30 a.m. Council members, staff and others may participate only by teleconference.

Before the meeting, visit okc.gov/agenda to get the agenda and see the items to be considered.

To listen to the meeting, call (405) 534-4946. When prompted, enter Conference ID 328037711#.

To sign up to speak about an agenda item or during “Citizens to Be Heard,” or ask questions about the meeting, call (405) 297-2391, text (405) 219-7987 or email cityclerk@okc.gov. Include the agenda item and the reason you would like to speak (protest, representing applicant, request continuance, etc.), and your name, address and phone number. Also include the subject on which you would like to speak if you’re signing up for “Citizens to Be Heard.”

Send requests to speak before the meeting to avoid sending it after the item has been considered. The City Clerk’s Office will attempt to submit requests sent during the meeting to the Mayor.

A recording of the meeting will be posted as normal later in the day to the City’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/cityofokc.

The Mayor will announce at the beginning of the meeting that if connections are lost, the City will attempt to restore them for up to 30 minutes. The meeting will be rescheduled they aren’t restored in time.

If you’re disconnected, try connecting again before calling, texting or emailing with questions.
