"We understand how difficult it is for parents to balance work, school and childcare during the pandemic, because we are experiencing it ourselves throughout our organization," said Doug Kupper, director of OKC Parks. “We hope this provides parents a safe option for students enrolled in a virtual learning program. We will take good care of your children in a safe environment. "

More in the programs
The Virtual Academy is from 7 am to 3:30 pm, and the After School Kids Club is from 3:30 to 6 pm
OKC Parks professionals will work with students in groups of no more than 9. Staff will assist students with Wi-Fi and homework. A safe and fun environment, even with free time inside and outside, will promote learning in a small classroom-like environment.
CDC's safety and sanitation protocols include mandatory masks for students 6 years and older, frequent hand washing, hand sanitizing stations, hourly sanitizing of high-touch surfaces, and temperature controls prior to entry.
Students must bring their own devices. Recreation centers have high-speed Wi-Fi, but students may need their own mobile data or a Wi-Fi connection for some streams due to bandwidth limitations. Students can bring their own Wi-Fi access points or mobile data-enabled devices.
