- A Tulsa woman has been accused of selling thousands of fake oxycodone pills that were laced with fentanyl. Markia Curran was arrested after DEA agents received a tip that she had been selling 300 of the fake pills every week for two years. Investigators say they intercepted one of Curran's packages last week and discovered that it contained one thousand more pills. The agents also warned the public that fentanyl is such a powerful pain killer that people can die from taking just one pill. (News On 6)
- A Tulsa teacher is in jail following accusations that she engaged in inappropriate relations with a teenager from Sedgwick County. Christin Covel, a math teacher at Edison Preparatory School, was arrested Tuesday morning for the incidents, which the Wichita Police Department says happened between 2018-2109. School officials sent parents a letter following Covel's arrest. (KSN-TV)
- Tulsa Animal Welfare announced Wednesday that it will reopen its animal shelter today. The reopening will coincide with a free adoption event that will run through Sunday. During the limited promotion, TAW will waive all adoption fees for available dogs, which include microchipping, the cost of spaying and neutering, and age-appropriate vaccinations. (kjrh.com)
