Ambitious downtown development project would bring soccer stadium, link neighborhoods (tulsaworld.com) — Developers are assembling land in northwest downtown Tulsa for Project Nexus, an arts and entertainment district anchored by a new soccer and multipurpose stadium near Tulsa Theater. The plan would redevelop former Hiland Dairy and Tulsa Transitional Center properties, aiming to better connect downtown's districts and potentially reshape how Tulsans experience the area.
   

2. 2 Tulsa firefighters rescued after getting trapped in warehouse fire (newson6.com) — Two Tulsa firefighters were rescued after becoming trapped inside a burning warehouse near 4th Street and Peoria early Tuesday, suffering minor upper-body burns but expected to recover. Around 55–60 firefighters responded, and crews remain on scene investigating the cause and what was stored inside while asking the public to steer clear of the area.
   

3. Tulsa city employee honored with City Star Award for lifesaving actions (newson6.com) — A City of Tulsa Water & Sewer employee, James Brian Scott, was honored by Mayor Monroe Nichols with a City Star Award after performing lifesaving CPR at Riverchase Apartments. New to Tulsa, Scott says the experience underscores staying alert in a busy city and is part of a broader effort to recognize employees who strengthen Tulsa's safety culture.
   

4. Tulsa researchers launch oral history project on 1921 Race Massacre (fox23.com) — Researchers at the University of Tulsa and Gilcrease's Helmerich Center are building a community archive about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and need help from local families. They're collecting stories, photos, letters, and even partial or uncertain memories, and invite Tulsa-area residents to contact the team by email or phone to contribute.
   

5. Tulsa Zoo welcomes baby chinchilla and offers naming opportunity (newson6.com) — A new baby chinchilla is now on view at the Tulsa Zoo, and visitors can help choose her name by donating at least $5 to the Mission ImPopsicle fundraiser. Donations made through Sept. 7 will be matched up to $5,000, and one donor will be randomly selected after Labor Day to pick from staff-curated name options.
