North Tulsa celebrates new Rudisill Library in Greenwood District (tulsaflyer.org) — North Tulsa residents now have a newly reopened Rudisill Regional Library in the historic Greenwood District, featuring expanded hours and modern amenities like a maker space, podcast studio, teen center, and African American Resource Center. The 33,000-square-foot branch at 1017 N. Greenwood Ave. is part of a major Tulsa City-County Library capital campaign that also includes upgrades to other area libraries.
   

2. Community donates household essentials for residents moving into new City Lights (kjrh.com) — Tulsa's City Lights Foundation is finishing a $26.1 million supportive housing community for people experiencing chronic homelessness, with residents set to begin moving in on October 19. Community donors are supplying essentials like bedding, cookware, and toiletries, while applicants are selected through Tulsa's coordinated entry system and will pay about $400 monthly for housing that includes utilities, Wi‑Fi, laundry, and on-site support.
   

3. Field experts excavate new area at Oaklawn Cemetery in Tulsa (newson6.com) — Excavation work has started on Block L at Oaklawn Cemetery in Tulsa as experts search for possible additional victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Crews brought in more equipment and forensic trailers on October 2, with more extensive digging expected next week along the south side of Section 20.
   

4. TCC announces final season for Signature Symphony in Tulsa (newson6.com) — Tulsa Community College has announced that the 2026-27 season will be the final one for Signature Symphony at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center, ending a three-decade Tulsa residency and affecting about 70 musicians and four staff. Concerts will continue through the final season, while Tulsa Opera plans to maintain its Signature Chorus and current performance schedule, including Christmas in Tulsa.
   

5. Tulsa man faces felony charges after police seize guns, suspected fentanyl (newson6.com) — Tulsa police arrested a 49-year-old man after a reported weapons disturbance at a west Tulsa apartment, seizing two handguns, ammunition, and over 300 grams of suspected fentanyl. The suspect, a convicted felon, was booked into Tulsa County jail on multiple felony complaints, including firearm and aggravated trafficking charges that underscore ongoing public safety concerns in the city.
