With a coordinated Lights Out campaign planned and World Migratory Bird Day approaching, organizers are inviting Tulsans to join monitoring walks and help make the city safer for migrating birds overhead.

Tulsa mother shares heartbreak and hope as 8-year-old daughter recovers from house fire (fox23.com) β An 8-year-old Tulsa girl is in a Texas burn hospital after firefighters revived her following a devastating house fire in Tulsa on Wednesday that also injured her grandmother. Her mother is trying to reach her bedside, while investigators work to determine what caused the blaze that has left both family members hospitalized.

Tulsa Police arrest man accused of threatening woman and dog with gun (ktul.com) β Tulsa police arrested a man they say pointed a handgun at a woman, her dog, and later threatened her boyfriend outside the Stop-N-Save near North Garnett Road and East Brady Street. Officers recovered a pistol, ammunition, marijuana, and 28 ecstasy pills, and booked the suspect into Tulsa County Jail on multiple weapons, violence, drug, and warrant charges, while withholding his identity pending formal filing.

'It was vague': Parents left with more questions after TPS listening session (kjrh.com) β Tulsa parents are pressing district leaders for clearer answers on a proposal to close 17 Tulsa Public Schools campuses, including Hoover Elementary, during a series of listening sessions. Families say explanations about funding, transportation changes, and future services still feel vague, even as TPS promises to honor IEPs, maintain unused buildings, and finalize new bus routes before next school year. Two more public sessions remain before the October 19 board vote.

Tulsa Air & Space Museum Launches "Give $16 for the F-16" Challenge to Bring Thunderbird Home for Veterans Day (prlog.org) β Tulsa Air & Space Museum is asking residents to "Give $16 for the F-16" so it can transport and mount a historic Thunderbird jet in time for Veterans Day 2026. The $60,000 campaign would fund moving the aircraft from Texas and installing it as a dramatic new landmark honoring Tulsa's 138th Fighter Wing and local veterans.
