Good morning, Tulsa! Happy Thanksgiving! Please know that, like most of you, I will be taking the day off to enjoy the festivities, so there will not be a newsletter in your inbox tomorrow. We appreciate your understanding of the slight pause in the Tulsa Daily, and we'll be back to our normal routine Saturday morning!

Here are the top stories today in Tulsa:

  1. Holiday travel is in full swing at Tulsa International Airport, with more than 4,000 travelers coming through the airport every day this week. The airport is recommending that passengers arrive at least 90 minutes before their plane departs to account for crowds and delays. Airport staff is taking steps to keep everyone healthy, including frequent sanitizing of high-contact areas and efforts to physically distance people around baggage carousels. (News On 6)
  2. The Tulsa Fire Department wants residents to stay safe today as they're preparing their Thanksgiving meals. About 1,400 house fires, many of them preventable, start on Thanksgiving because of kitchen mishaps. While staying in the house during active cooking tasks and keeping hot items away from children can help, the best way to protect your family is to have smoke detectors installed, says the Fire Department. 3. Don't feel like cooking today? These Tulsa-area restaurants are open for Thanksgiving Day service and holiday to-go meals. (news9.com KWTV)
  4. "Lights On," a Tulsa holiday tradition, is returning in-person to Utica Square tonight at 6:30 p.m. This year, crews have put up one million lights on 175 trees. (kjrh.com)
