M.e.t. To Accept Tires, E-Waste At Recycling Event On October 10 At Tulsa Zoo
Metropolitan Environmental Trust (the M.e.t.) will have a tire and e-waste recycling event on Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at Tulsa Zoo.

The Metropolitan Environmental Trust (the M.e.t.) will have a tire and e-waste recycling event on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tulsa Zoo, 6421 E. 36th St. North.

Tire recycling is free at this event, up to 10 tires per person. This does not apply to dealers. Other exceptions include the following: no wheels/rims, and no tractor tires.
E-waste recyclable items that will be accepted free of charge include computers, printers, flat- screen monitors, VCR/DVD players, radios, office machines, appliances – anything that uses batteries or has a power cord and weighs less than 50 pounds. Refrigerators and air conditioning units will not be accepted due to regulations involving freon.

Recycling fees do apply for the following items: computer monitors (CRT only) - $10 each, and televisions - $21 each. Items must weigh less than 50 pounds. Recyclers can pre-pay online at www.metrecycle.com ; click on the green e-waste icon.
Mercury thermostats and thermometers also will be accepted at this event. This free event is open to residents of Tulsa, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Claremore, Collinsville, Coweta, Glenpool, Jenks, Owasso, Sand Springs and Tulsa County.
