🌱 Salvation Army Christmas Dinner + Afghan Refugees Donations
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Tulsa.

Good morning, Tulsa! Like many of you, the Patch team is taking some time off to enjoy the holidays, so there will not be a newsletter in your inbox tomorrow. We appreciate your understanding of this slight pause in our schedule, and I will be back on Monday with the next edition of the Tulsa Daily! Now, here's everything happening around town today.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and warmer. High: 79 Low: 61.
Here are the top stories in Tulsa today:
- The Salvation Army is hosting Christmas Eve celebrations on Friday afternoon at their Center of Hope. The public is invited to join their Christmas Eve meal at 12:30 pm. Their guests will receive meals from 12 p.m. until 12:30 p.m., while the members of the Tulsa community can receive their meals between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve. (KOKI FOX 23)
- The Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma is constantly sorting through donations for Afghan refugees who are resettling in the community. Donations have poured in, especially those of furniture. There are still many opportunities to give, as more refugees are coming in all the time. (News On 6)
- COVID-19 testing sites in Green Country are seeing an increase in patients as the omicron variant is detected in Tulsa and people prepare for the holidays. Vaccine boosters have plateaued but COVID-19 testing remains in demand. PCR tests are the ones being used, and where the results used to take days, this is no longer the case. (KTUL)
