🌱 TPS Approves Elementary Grade Shift + Robbery Suspect Arrested

Here are the top stories today in Tulsa:
- On Monday night, the Tulsa school board approved reconfiguring the grades at the elementary and junior high campuses in the East Central and Hale feeder patterns. Starting with the 2022-23 school year, the 16 elementary schools across those two feeder patterns will go through fifth grade rather than sixth grade. Those sixth graders will instead attend East Central and Nathan Hale junior high schools, which will become middle schools in August. (Tulsa World)
- Tulsa police have arrested a man after robbing a pizza shop where they say he used to work. Officers say former employee Curtis Kendricks entered the restaurant with a gun and knife and demanded the store manager and employees open a safe. During the robbery, there were also several customers in the restaurant that Kendricks demanded cash and wallets from. (KTUL)
- West Tulsa drivers will soon see changes on a major highway construction project. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said along with the Gilcrease Expressway project its other big projects are along the Inner Dispersal Loop near downtown and the I-44 and Highway 75 interchange. (News On 6)
- Tulsa police have confirmed that they are investigating misconduct allegations at Emerson Elementary. The mother who is making these allegations said she believes her child was sexually abused by a teacher. (KOKI FOX 23)
- The Tulsa Zoo has named its newest resident. A rare white rhino calf was born last month and the zoo has named it Hodari. (KOKI FOX 23)
