🌱 Tulsa-Based Crime Ring Busted + Afghan Refugees Come To Tulsa

Here are the top 3 stories in Tulsa today:
- 29 people have been charged in a multi-state theft ring based in Tulsa that cost stores more than $10 million dollars in losses. The U.S. Attorney's Office and Oklahoma Attorney Generals' office announced the charges on Thursday and say the thieves profited nearly $5 million dollars from stealing and selling stolen products. Authorities first began investigating the string of thefts in 2019. (News On 6)
- Authorities have issued warrants for two suspects in the murder of a Tulsa man that occurred on Monday. Both 24-year-old Rashawn Graham and 21-year-old Lilie Crawford are wanted in connection to the death of 30-year-old Nickolas Norwood, who was found dead by a neighbor in his apartment on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say the investigation into Norwood's death is ongoing. (News On 6)
- Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma reported that 600 of the 800 Afghan refugees that were expected to come to Tulsa have arrived and settled into permanent homes. Deacon Kevin Sartorius said that the remaining 200 refugees are expected to arrive in the city in the next three to four weeks. The refugees will have to apply for citizenship within a certain time, but the Catholic charities will have immigration legal services available for them. (news9.com KWTV)
