Weekend Event Updates For Tulsa– June 19

(TULSA, OK) – Please see the following updates for weekend activities scheduled in Tulsa this weekend.

Housing Solutions: To best ensure all Tulsans stay safe, Housing Solutions Tulsa, the lead agency for A Way Home for Tulsa, is working to help Tulsans experiencing homelessness who are being displaced by the Federal Exclusion Zones and curfew in Downtown Tulsa. There have been untrue8 rumors circulating of individuals experiencing homelessness and the City of Tulsa removing their personal items, which is not true.

“We have received several questions regarding the safety of Tulsans experiencing homelessness during the events of this weekend, as well as some concerns that persons experiencing homeless are being involuntarily displaced in advance of the events downtown,” said Becky Gligo, Housing Policy Director for the City of Tulsa and Executive Director for A Way Home for Tulsa.

“Out of an abundance of caution and from a desire to protect the health and safety of Tulsans experiencing homelessness, there is a collective effort between the shelters and coordinated outreach teams to inform and assist unsheltered Tulsans with finding a safe space for the weekend. Anyone needing assistance, access to a cooling station, or a place to sleep outside of downtown should call 211.”

Weather Aware & Cooling Stations

With inclement weather expected Friday and Saturday, it’s asked all who will be outside to stay weather aware. There are two cooling stations anyone can use in Tulsa to stay cool over the weekend. Tulsa County Social Services is open weekdays and John 3:16 Mission is open through the weekend.
