$5K In Heroin Found On Corvallis Transient: Police

CORVALLIS, OR — Detectives from the Benton County Sheriff's Office reportedly found more than 4.5 ounces of heroin, valued at $5,000, on an apparent transient from the Corvallis area while making an arrest last Friday.
Kyle Joseph Lebar, 27, was taken to the Benton County Jail and charged with delivery and possession of heroin, and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on $85,000 bail.
According to deputies, Lebar was seen engaging in a suspected drug transaction Dec. 1 near Northwest 14th Street and Northwest Monroe Avenue, roughly half a mile from Oregon State University in Corvallis.

While speaking with detectives, Lebar allegedly showed signs of having recently used drugs; he was subsequently arrested after officers with the Corvallis Police Department's Street Crimes Unit found a syringe with methamphetamine residue during a pat down search, sheriff's spokeswoman Jaimi Glass said in a statement.
During a more thorough search of Lebar's person and backpack, officers found Suboxone (an opioid withdrawal medicine), several double-edged throwing daggers, a digital scale, and 4.5 ounces of heroin.

According to court documents obtained by Patch, Lebar was already on probation for possession of heroin and meth charges from July.
