Man Arrested For Theft, Forging Return Receipts: Oregon State Police
The septuagenarian reportedly admitted to his theft and forgery scam when confronted by officers Saturday in Lane County.

SPRINGFIELD, OR — A 74-year-old Springfield man was arrested Saturday on 33 counts of theft, forgery and possession of a forged instrument. His alleged crime? Stealing cold sore medicine and returning it for cash at Bi-Mart stores. His take? Roughly $4,281.
Oregon State Police say they began investigating Terrence Lee Liddell in July after a trooper pulled him over for an unspecified traffic violation and found evidence of apparent shoplifting.
Over a two-month investigation, during which detectives obtained surveillance video and warrants to search Liddell's personal computer, Oregon State Police reportedly discovered evidence Liddell had been stealing Abreva cold sore medication and returning it to Bi-Marts in Oregon and Washington. When investigators interviewed him Sept. 23, Liddell reportedly admitted to the accusations and showed police the printer and stolen Bi-Mart printer paper he used to make the forged return receipts.
