Aloha Runaway Returns Home Upon Seeing Herself On The News

Police said 15-year-old Ashley Jarrell, who ran away Oct. 18, returned home after seeing the news coverage about her disappearance.

ALOHA, OR — A 15-year-old girl from Aloha who ran away from her home Oct. 18, and who was thought to be at risk of human trafficking, returned home on her own Tuesday afternoon upon seeing herself on the news, according to Washington County Sheriff's officials.

Ashley Jarrell had a history of being lured by adults and was known to stay in downtown Portland, Beaverton, Aloha, and Vancouver for days at a time. She has also taken trains to other states, police said when announcing her disappearance.

Sometimes using the name 'Latoya Sanchez', Ashley reportedly functions at the level of an 11-year-old, police said.
