Driver In King City Crash That Killed 1 Arrested For Manslaughter
Nathaniel Franciosi, a pedestrian, died after being struck during a two-car crash caused by a drunk driving Tigard woman in July.

KING CITY, OR — A two-car crash on Pacific Highway 99W one Sunday evening in July sent two people to hospital — a pedestrian and one of the drivers. Two days later, sheriff's officials confirmed the pedestrian had died. Police announced Friday, Dec. 29, that the injured driver of the car that allegedly caused the entire crash was found to have a blood alcohol content level three times the legal limit.
Now in custody after fleeing to California for several months, that driver is being charged with manslaughter, Washington County officials said.
Tualatin resident Nathaniel Franciosi, 36, succumbed to injuries sustained when he was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban on Pacific Highway 99W in King City around 6:30 p.m. July 30. The Suburban struck Franciosi after it was hit by a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz driven by 58-year-old Michelle Marie McMillan of Tigard.

Police officials previously said Franciosi was walking on the sidewalk near the Avalon Park Apartments when McMillan made a left turn from the southbound lanes on 99W to enter the apartment complex. Crossing the northbound lanes, McMillan struck the Suburban driven by 71-year-old Sherwood resident William Blakeslee, who was traveling north and had the right-of-way, police said.
Sustaining critical, life-threatening injuries, Franciosi was take to Oregon Health & Science University, where he later died.

McMillan sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to OHSU, where doctors found her blood alcohol content level three times the legal limit.
In September, a grand jury in Washington County indicted McMillan for manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, assault, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal mischief — but McMillan had already fled to Lincoln, California, a town half the size of Hillsboro just northwest of Sacramento, authorities said.
The Lincoln Police Department found and arrested McMillan Nov. 19, based on the Washington County warrant, and held her at the Placer County Jail.
Early Friday, McMillan was extradited to Oregon and taken to the Washington County Jail. Her bail is set at $25,000.
