Here's the latest edition the Beaverton Daily— your go-to for the scoop on the most important things going down in town.

Happy Saturday, neighbors! Let's get you all caught up to start today off on an informed note.
First, today's weather: Partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 96 Low: 69. A heat advisory remains in effect through 10:00 PM today. It's probably a bit hazy to see those Perseids, but AirNow.gov reports air quality is still considered "Good."
Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Has it got a little more crowded in Beaverton recently? The 2020 Census says yes, though less than expected! Our fair city grew approximately 8.6 percent since the 2010 Census to about 97,494 residents, just shy of the Census Bureau's 2019 prediction of 99,037. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Along with getting larger, Washington County has also gotten more diverse since the 2010 Census. Peter Wong reports that the county is first in the state according to the Census Bureau's diversity index measurement. That's up from its ranking of fourth for diversity in the 2010 Census. (Pamplin Media Group)
- Washington County is seeking public input on plans to put a roundabout at Southwest Farmington Road and Southwest River Road. The heavily trafficked intersection was home to the Cruise-In Country Diner, which closed recently when the owners retired. Share your thoughts at the online open house on the county's website. - If you haven't noticed, we're having a bit of a heatwave. Audrey Weil reports on the toll it's taking throughout the Metro area, including business and outdoor pools closing up early. Syndicate Wine Bar in downtown Beaverton was one of those businesses, with the owner reporting that the heat was so intense that the outdoor floor began to buckle. (KPTV.com)
