Here are the top stories today in Beaverton:
- Looking to get your booster or a pediatric shot for one of your littles? Pamplin Media Group shares a list of large-scale COVID-19 vaccination sites all over the state. In Washington County, we have two spots — a clinic at Tektronix and another set up at Pacific University. - Is the City of Hillsboro the new Comcast? Max Egener details our neighboring city's plans to build out its HiLight program, which brings 1 gigabyte, high-speed internet for as little as $10 a month to low-income residents. The community near the Shute Park Library was the first area HiLight began serving around a year ago; the entire city is scheduled to have access in about ten years. - In the mood for a new pizza spot that's not too far? Want to dip your toe into Portland without committing to a drive through THE TUNNEL? Willamette Week profiles a spot that's just over the hill — Pizza Thief/Bandit Bar. With neighborhood feels, a beer nerd-friendly tap list, arcade games and affordable slices with plentiful toppings, the jaunt up Cornell to the Northwest 26th and Vaughn location might not seem so very long.
- The 6A football title game happened Saturday, December 4, and Central Catholic has been crowned the champ. The SE Portland school faced off against Tualatin at Hillsboro Stadium, besting the Timberwolves 44-14. It's Central Catholic's sixth football championship to cap its 14-0 season. - The City of Beaverton's Winter Lights are lit, and Winterland Carnival is in the works. Explore lights displays at City Park and at The Round from December 3-January 6.
